About
Morelianos brings authentic Mexican cuisine to downtown Greenville, right at the corner of Water and Main streets. Owned by Alexandra Amado-Bolanos, who grew up in the Greenville area, and her husband Francisco Amado, who hails from Mexico, the restaurant is built on family recipes and a shared dream of keeping great dining options local. The name "Morelianos" refers to people from Morelia, the capital of Michoacán - a Mexican state celebrated for its rich food traditions.
The couple originally started small in Erie before opening their first Mercer County location in Mercer at the end of 2022. The Greenville space, which sat vacant for a decade, was transformed by Francisco over the course of a year into a warm, polished dining room designed to feel like a place you'd want to dress up for. The menu features street tacos on homemade corn tortillas, birria tacos with dipping sauce, chile rellenos, tamales, enchiladas, fajitas, and house specialties like Pollo Asado and carnitas with chocolate-based mole. Specialty desserts include pumpkin cheesecake flan and strawberry tres leches.
Morelianos has quickly become a community anchor. About 16 of their 23 staff members are local high school students, and the restaurant was featured on the America's Best Restaurants roadshow. Open seven days a week from 11am to 10pm, it's a destination that locals and visitors alike have embraced as the best Mexican food in the Shenango Valley.
