ok so my old window unit died last summer and i kept putting it off but i cannot do another week like this lol... what do you all have that actually works. just need one for the bedroom. nothing fancy. and where is the best place to get one... lowes home depot walmart??
Oh I hear you Pam! We replaced ours two summers ago and got one from Lowes... a Frigidaire I think. Has been good so far! My neighbor swears by the LG ones from Home Depot. Whatever you do don't forget to clean the filter once a month, that was something nobody told me until ours started running funny!
Pam!! I feel for you... we lost our central air last August and it was MISERY. We ended up calling around for window units and Walmart of all places had the best stock at the time. Whatever you get plug it in and test it before you wrestle it into the window... learned that the hard way lol
We picked up a Midea inverter unit last summer and it's been a big step up from the older window units I'm used to. Quieter and the bill noticeably dropped. Lowe's had a decent selection when we looked. I'd second the advice to measure your window opening twice before you buy though, ours was a tighter fit than I expected.
