Lilacs are blooming early this year

Anyone else notice the lilacs already starting? Mine popped this week and I could swear last year they didn't open up until at least the 20th. Not complaining because I love them, but the seasons feel all turned around. The peonies are getting close too. What's everyone else seeing in their yards?

Mine too! And the lilac bush by my garage is the most fragrant it has been in years. I think the mild winter and that warm stretch in April had something to do with it. There is a beautiful row of old lilacs along one of the back roads out toward Mercer that I drive by every spring just to see them. Worth the detour.

Mine are out too. Two weeks earlier than last year for sure

Mine are going crazy this year. I cut a few branches and brought them in and the whole kitchen smells like spring. My mother always said you shouldn't bring lilacs inside but I never understood why. Some old superstition I guess. They don't last long but they're beautiful while they do.

We noticed the same thing this year. Coming from where we used to live, the spring around here really is something. The dogwoods on our street were full bloom by the second week of May. Still adjusting to how green everything gets so fast once it turns.
