I retired last year after 30+ years and I love it but I need to fill my days with something. What do people do around here? Looking for classes, groups, volunteer stuff, walking groups... anything really. Grove City area but I'll drive.

oh welcome to retirement!! best decision ever once you find your rhythm... the YMCA in Hermitage has all kinds of stuff for our age group, and the senior center in Mercer has lunches that are actually pretty good lol

Welcome Karen! I retired from teaching a few years back and felt the same way at first. The library has a Friends group that's wonderful, and the Mercer County Historical Society is always looking for help. You'll find your people quickly here.

Thank you both!! I had no idea about the Friends of the Library group, that sounds right up my alley. Going to look into the YMCA classes too. This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to find when I joined.

Welcome Karen! I retired from nursing a while back. Best advice I can give is don't fill every minute right away. Took me about six months to figure out what I actually wanted to do with my time and now my days are full but in a good way.

If you have any patience for kids, the school district is always looking for volunteer readers and tutors. Just a couple hours a week and the kids absolutely love it. Reach out to the Greenville or Sharon district and they'll find a fit.
