Flag Day coming up... and it's the 250th this year

Flag Day is June 14, and with it being the country's 250th anniversary this year it feels like it ought to mean a little more than usual. I know there's been some talk about the America250 events and a few of the concerts aren't too far from us.

Does anyone know if the area is doing anything special to mark it? Parades, ceremonies, anything at the parks? Seems like the kind of thing this county would do well if there's an effort behind it. Would be a nice thing to take the grandkids to and explain what it's actually about.

I keep hearing about all the America250 events this year but I'm still not totally clear what's happening locally. Is there usually a parade or ceremony around here for Flag Day, or is it more the bigger summer stuff? Still learning how this area marks these things.

Flag Day always meant a lot in our house. My father was a veteran and we never let it go by without the flag out front. Feels extra special this year with the 250th. Thank you for the reminder Ed, it's the kind of thing that slips past you if nobody says anything.

I had no idea it was the 250th this year until I saw your post Ed. I've been reading about the America250 concert series too... Cole Swindell, The Fray, the Avett Brothers, a few of those are within driving distance. Half tempted to make a little road trip out of one. Has anyone looked at tickets yet?
