I can't believe we are already getting close to the end of the school year. My grandkids have a million little events coming up between now and the last day and I'm trying to figure out what's worth driving to.

Also looking ahead to summer... what are people signing up for? Day camps, swim lessons, library reading programs? Always feel like I find out about the good ones after they're full lol

The Hermitage library does a summer reading thing every year. Cant remember when sign ups open but it fills up. My daughter used to take the kids when they were little

Oh Linda you brought me right back!! When I was still teaching the last two weeks always felt like the longest stretch of the year and then suddenly it was over. We always did a little ice cream party with the grandkids on the last day, nothing fancy but they looked forward to it. The library does a summer reading kickoff that's usually really cute if you haven't done it. Mercer borough has one and so does Hermitage.

This time of year is wild on our end too. Field days, awards nights, eighth grade trips, end of year parties, on top of finishing up grades. Hang in there. The graduation ceremonies for the high schools are mostly the first weekend of June and the elementary moving-up things are the last week of school. If your grandkids' teachers are anything like ours they appreciate ANY little thank you note this time of year more than another gift card.
